Dance Classes
These programs are designed as a fun introduction to exploring basic dance movements and elements of music for ALL ages.
A wide variety of programs are available, providing dance education for beginners to the advanced students. Footworks is operates in Barrhead with 200+ students in attendance. The Academy trains students using the Royal Academy of Dance ballet curriculum, as well as ADAPT, Al Gilbert, Acrobatic Arts and various New York and LA Styles.
BALLET
Focuses on technique and posture and develops core strength. It provides the dancer with grace and elegance and musical awareness. All ballet classes will follow the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) syllabus. Students who are interested in taking an R.A.D. exam will be required to take additional exam preparation classes.
Ballet Training is highly recommended to all dancers.
CONTEMPORARY
CONTEMPORARY combines modern technique and jazz to create and convey a deep message to the audience.
HIP HOP
This is a free style dance class. Focus is on learning to isolate movement. No experience is necessary.
Dance classes designed just for Boys emphasizing Hip Hop, & Jazz. Various age groups offered.
JAZZ
JAZZ includes learning technique of foot, arm and body positions, rhythm, style, poise and flexibility. Lessons involve learning the elements of the Brain Foley A.D.A.P.T Syllabus, Al Gilbert Syllabus and New York and L.A. free styles.
LYRICAL
LYRICAL is ballet and Jazz movement combined to interpret a piece of lyrical music. A beautiful soft flowing dance style that connects to the music's lyrics. This class helps to develop expression flow and artistic quality
MUSCIAL THEATRE
A program focusing on singing, dancing and acting. Vocal technique will be focused on.
TAP
TAP includes learning technique, sound quality, rhythm, style and various rhythmic sound combinations. Students develop musicality, space and body awareness.
Lessons involve learning the elements of the Brain Foley A.D.A.P.T Syllabus, Al Gilbert Syllabus and New York and L.A. free styles.
