Irene Widdup

Miss Irene is the owner and artistic director of Footworks Dance Academy. With 30+ years of teaching and choreography experience, a Teaching Certificate from the Royal Academy of Dance, Bachelor of Education Degree, a Member of the International Academy of Dance Adjudicators and the President Alberta Dance Educators Association and 43 years of dance training, Miss Irene comes highly qualified. She makes sure to keep updated with the latest in dance by attending various dance conventions and master classes in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Phoenix, and even here in Alberta. She has published her S.T.E.P. Program for dance teaching preparation and has presented the program to various schools all over Alberta at the Alberta Dance Educators Association. She organizes a dance teachers convention, Team Motivate, for dance teachers all across North America to attend through the ADEA. Her students have won several awards, as has her choreography. She has four girls, a small group in the dance world, a wonderful husband and 2 adorable grandbabies, Olive and Opal, and her dog “Luna” that travels with her on all her dance adventures! Miss Irene is very proud of all her dancers and is looking forward to another exciting year with all her dancers.

Keanna Widdup

Miss Keanna began her dance training at Footworks at the age of 3 up until graduation. She has trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Contemporary. She has completed her RAD ballet exams and always encourages her students to participate in dance exams as they have so much meaningful value. She has since stayed connected to the Footworks family and has continued teaching here for the past six years. She truly loves teaching and has a great passion for it. She hopes that the dancers she teaches experience joy and happiness while taking her dance classes!


Miss Keanna also enjoys attending dance conventions and has had the privilege of traveling to Vancouver, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto to take classes with some of the world’s best dancers and instructors. Presently Miss Keanna has her Teaching Certification in the A.D.A.P.T Teacher Training Program, PBT Certification, along with her Acrobatic Arts & Aerial Arts Certification.

Emily Bergen

Miss Emily has been inspired to dance in numerous ways throughout her life. Her early days in the Intensive Training Program at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet gave her strong foundations in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and modern and led her to pursue a degree in dance at Brigham Young University where she focused on contemporary dance. Following her graduation in 2017, she returned to Winnipeg to teach at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. In June 2019 she made the move to Edmonton and has enjoyed teaching both in Edmonton and the surrounding areas.

Dehla Huff

Miss Dehla has been dancing since the day she was born but has officially been training to date for 24 yrs. Miss Dehla is trained in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz as well as Musical Theater, Music and Vocal Education, Tap, Hip Hop, Acrobatics Arts and Contemporary. She has been examined and has achieved levels in R.A.D. Ballet and A.D.A.P.T. and AL Gilbert Jazz and Tap. Miss Dehla has been teaching dance for seven years, four of which she’s been in specifically in Calgary. She has attended many dance conventions and workshops in Edmonton, Calgary, New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. She has trained with the New York City Rockets twice, Dana Moore (from the musical “Chicago”), The Lion King cast and many more! Miss Dehla has had the privilege of performing on Carnival cruise lines as well as in Disneyland. Miss Dehla holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Dance from the University of Calgary, where she trained in Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and African. She is also certified in Acrobatic Arts Modules 1 & 2, and has recently been training in Aeral Arts.

Miss Dehla brings humor, excitement and hard work to her classroom. She is well loved by her students but more importantly she loves her dancers. Her bubbly personality motivates all to do their best and we are excited to have her on our teaching team this year!

Stacey Mack

Miss Stacey loves teaching and is ready to rejoin the Footworks Teaching Team after taking some time to have her baby and raise her family! Miss Stacey has studied all forms of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap and Hip Hop. She completed several RAD Ballet exams, is a certified Acrobatic Arts Module 1 and 2 instructor, has attended various dance conventions to train with many dance masters over the years, and in addition to her dance education she has a degree in Occupational and Physical Therapy.


She and her husband Chris have two adorable little boys who love to dance themselves! Miss Stacey brings a warm smile to all her classes and is loved by all her students. She is looking forward to working with her specialty and favorite age group - Preschoolers!! Welcome back Miss Stacey!



Blake Burgmaier

Mr. Blake started his training at the age of eight and never looked back! His first steps on to the stage secured his love of performing and the art of dance! Blake continued his training in local studios in and around Edmonton and as he grew up he developed a passion for Hip Hop! He has become an integral body of the Edmonton dance scene and strives to inspire the next generation with competitions and showcase performances that he has been fortunate to be involved in.

Blake has traveled the world with his dancing and continues to grow as a professional dancer and as a leader in the dance community. He recently competed professionally on the world stage of Hip Hop International and left inspired and motivated to pass on his passion to others. His goals as a teacher and mentor are to pass on his love and knowledge of dance, and Hip Hop in particular, so that they too may find their love of dance.
