"New" - SKIPPING CLUB: Jump Rope Training is a fundamental muscle and fitness training program designed to improve balance, timing, and coordination to a high level of precision. With a properly designed jump rope training program you will develop strength in the muscles of your legs, torso, and arms, and enhance reflexes throughout your body. What you learn with Brent Purnell will help you continue your own training and increase your ability to perform at your best with both grace and athleticism.

ACROBATICS: The acrobatics arts program is designed to promote exellence in tumbling, flexibility, strength, balance, contortion and partner/group stunting for dancers.

MUSIC IN MOTION (18 months - 2yrs),  CREATIVE MOVEMENT (3 - 4 yrs) & DANCIN’ AND SINGIN’WONDERS (4 -5 yrs)  
are programs designed as a fun introduction to exploring basic dance movements and elements of music. Young students will explore their world of dance and music through story telling, puppetry, instruments, and theatrical props. Drama is also a component.

BALLET,  LYRICAL & POINTE focuses on technique and posture and develops core strength. It provides the dancer with grace and elegance and musical awareness. All ballet classes will follow the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) syllabus.  Students who are interested in taking an R.A.D. exam will be required to take additional exam preparation classes.  Ballet Training is highly recommended to all dancers. LYRICAL is ballet and Jazz movement combined to interpret a piece of lyrical music.  When you get your ankles and legs strong enough your instructor with put you on pointe. If you are on pointe you wear pointe shoes that are made of satin and help support your foot when you are on your toes.

JAZZ & TAP includes learning technique of foot, arm and body positions, rhythm, style, poise and flexibility.  TAP includes learning technique, sound quality, rhythm, style and various rhythmic sound combinations.  Lessons involve learning the elements of the Brain Foley A.D.A.P.T Syllabus, Al Gilbert Syllabus and New York and L.A. free styles.

CAPE BRETON STEPDANCE instruction includes basic patterns for both strathspey and reel steps, and history of the dance form. Music for this form is traditional fiddle music. 

HIP HOP is a  free style dance class. Focus is on learning to isolate movement.  No experience is necessary.

BOYZ CLUB dance classes are designed just for Boys emphasizing Hip Hop, & Jazz. Various age groups offered.

MUSICAL THEATER offered to students taking regular dance classes. This class covers drama and singing techniques as well as theater styled dance.

BALLROOM BLITZ is 6 week program is designed to teach you the basics of the Foxtrot, Swing, Cha Cha, Rhumba, Tango & Salsa.  (Partner Optional)

 

DANCE FITNESS A 10 week fitness program that emphasizes on Hip Hop, Jazz and fun Latin moves!

 

DANCE MIXER is a recreational 10 week program offering a combination of dance forms  to teens who necessarily DO NOT want to perform at festivals or competitions, but want to learn new styles of dance for fitness, fun and meeting new friends!
