Adult Programs

Our Adult dance programs are designed as a fun introduction to exploring basic dance movements and elements of music. All Programs are carefully taught to suit individual learning styles and needs.

A wide variety of programs are available, providing dance education for beginners to the advanced students. Footworks is in its 24th year of operation in Barrhead with 200+ students in attendance. The Academy trains students using the R.A.D. Ballet curriculum, as well as ADAPT, Al Gilbert, Acrobatic Arts and various New York and LA Styles.



Tuesday 7:30 - 8:30  p.m

 Barre Fitness is a low-impact, high-energy fusion of yoga, Pilates, and dance. We focus on building long, lean muscles, tightening the tush and strengthening the core. Using mostly body weight, light free weights and resistance bands, you will endure high repetitions to exert muscles to the point of fatigue, making this a highly effective type of fitness. Every class is choreographed to upbeat music and takes place in a highly motivating group environment, making it just as fun as it is effective.  


Dance Fitness

Tuesday 6:15 - 7:00  p.m.


A ballet workout with a twist! Incorporate ballet, yoga and pilates based movements for a continuous fat burning workout. Feel long, lean and strong. Using upbeat music this class will take you through core, balance and toning exercises for an increased Fat burning dance class. Use of hand weights increases intensity.





Tuesday 7:45 - 8:30 p.m.


A cardio work out to celtic music! Instruction includes basic patterns for both strathspey and reel steps, and history of the dance form. Music for this form is traditional fiddle music.



JAZZ Dance Fitness

Tuesday 7:00 - 7:45 p.m.


A Dance based cardio class designed to get you moving to a variety of dance songs. You will sweat out your stress with fun jazz moves. Use dance to sculpt and strengthen your body all while having loads of fun! No experience necessary.




Wednesday 8:30-9:15 p.m.


This is a great way to tap away all your troubles! Come enjoy learning the basics of TAP technique, sound quality, rhythm, style and various rhythmic sound combinations. Tapping helps stimulate the brain and develop and maintain long-term memory skills! No performances, just fun filled dance class!
